Richard D. Glovsky, Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, has co-authored an article examining new legislation that includes a number of important provisions impacting businesses with employees in Massachusetts, including paid family leave and an increase in the state’s minimum wage. The legislation included An Act Relative to Minimum Wage, Paid Family Medical Leave and the Sales Tax Holiday, and the authors have described its key provisions. The authors noted that six other states have passed laws providing employees with paid family and medical leave; however, the new Massachusetts law is arguably the most employee friendly of them all.
